He is Always There

We can’t foresee the turning of the tide
When problems beset us and tears are cried.
Sometimes life deals from the bottom of the deck
Filling us with worry and leaving us a wreck.

The enemy seeks to devour and destroy,
Using deceptions to eliminate our joy.
While walking through the valley, our heads hung low,
The mountain top seems so high, our footsteps slow.

How many times have we traveled this road
To battle the frustrations of troubles bestowed?
Yet when we come to our darkest hour
God demonstrates His infinite power.

It doesn’t matter how bad things might seem,
He always comes through, our faith to redeem.
God will not fail us in our times of pain.
He’ll never forsake us, by our side He’ll remain.

So when we find ourselves at a total loss
Or when the valley seems too wide to cross,
Just remember you’re in His love and care,
Look over your shoulder, He’s always there!

My Prayer for You

I thought of you so much today
I went to God in prayer.
To ask Him to watch over you
and show you that I care.

My prayer for you was not for rewards
ones that you can touch or feel.
But true rewards for happiness
that are so very real.

Like love and understanding
in all the things you do.
For guidance when you need it most
to see your troubles through.

I asked Him for good health for you
so your future could be bright.
And faith to accept life’s challenges
with courage to do what’s right.

I gave thanks to Him for granting my prayer
to bring you peace and love.
May you feel the warmth in your life
with Gods blessings from above

The Treasures In You

There are treasures in life, but owners are few
Of money and power to buy things brand new
Yet you can be wealthy and feel regal too,
If you will just look for the treasures in you.

These treasures in life are not hard to find
When you look in your heart, your soul, and your mind.
For when you are willing to share what’s within,
Your fervent search for riches will end.

The joy and the laughter, the smile that you bring;
The heart unafraid to love and to sing;
The hand always willing to help those in need;
Ones quick to reach out, to labor and feed.

So thank you for sharing these great gifts inside;
The caring, the cheering, the hug when one cried.
Thanks for the energy, encouragement too,
And thank you for sharing the treasures in you.

Trust in the Lord

 The wind’s not always on our backs,
The sky is not always blue.
Sometimes we crave the things we lack,
And don’t know what to do.

Sometimes life’s an uphill ride,
With mountains we must climb.
At times the river’s deep and wide,
And crossing takes some time.

No one said that life is easy,
There are no guarantees.
So Trust in the Lord continually,
On calm or stormy seas.

The challenges we face today
Prepares us for tomorrow.
For faith takes our fears away,
And peace replaces sorrow.

You Can’t Fool God

God is not sitting on some distant cloud
He is on His throne in Heaven right now
He is watching everything we say and do
He is not someone that can be fooled

He knows us when we are in a large crowd
He even knows us well enough to single us out
He knows our hearts and what’s on our mind
He knows when our beliefs are by design

Some people attend church for appearances’ sake
All the while professing to be a person of faith
They cloak their thoughts and actions behind a mask
Forgetting that God will one day take them to task

He might delay His judgment until the last day
But then He’ll will rip away their masquerade
We can’t fool God as we might our fellowman
He knows exactly where we stand

Begin the Day

Begin the day with God, kneel down to Him in prayer.
Lift up your heart to see His abode and seek His love to share.
Open the Book of God and read a portion there,
That it may hallow all your thoughts and sweeten all your care.
Go through the day with God, even though you may not see,
Wherever you are at home, abroad, He is still near to thee.
Converse in mind with God, Your Spirit heavenward ride;
Acknowledge every good bestowed and offer grateful praise.
Conclude your day with God, your sins to Him confess;
Trust in the Lord’s atoning blood and plead His righteousness.
Lie down at night with God, who give His servants sleep;
And when you tread the vale of death, He’ll safely guard and
keep.
